The Postdoctoral Fellowship is intended to support a postdoctoral researcher's contributions to PL-related research. The fellowship may be applied for on behalf of a postdoc to be named later, or directly by the intended recipient.
The Protocol Labs Postdoctoral Fellowship consists of:
- A contribution toward one or two years of salary in the amount of $64,000 per year and and one or two years of contributions to benefits up to a maximum of $25,000/year.
- A mobility grant in the amount of $5,000 for conference travel, including to two PL Research Summits. Up to $2,000 may be used to cover relocation expenses.
Protocol Labs Postdoctoral Fellows will be invited to participate in biweekly meetings of the Independent Research team and in a quarterly internal meeting of Protocol Labs researchers. Fellows will also be invited to discuss their research at annual PL-hosted research symposia.
The duration of the award is dependent upon the scope of the proposed project. Two year awards will be disbursed according to a 1+1 formula contingent on the assessment of Protocol Labs and the PI that satisfactory progress has been made on the project. Renewing postdocs are eligible for a 5% salary increase upon commencement of their second year of PL-funded work.
This application may be submitted by the Postdoctoral candidate, their PI, or an administrative staff member from the host institution. The submitter will serve as the primary point of contact for all communications regarding this application.
Evaluation of applications will occur in two rounds: one for applications received on or before the second Thursday of April, and a second round for applications received on or before the second Thursday of September.
