Joe is a researcher with a variety of interests, including theoretical cryptography, compilers and programming language design, and machine learning. He completed his undergraduate studies in computer science, with a focus on software verification, then attended Stanford University for a PhD in cryptography and security, advised by Dan Boneh and John Mitchell. Joe is always driven by finding elegant solutions to challenging problems, both of which occur in abundance at Protocol Labs.
